From figuring out ways to market to target audiences to writing about South Asians, storytelling is a vital part of my identity. I enjoy learning about stories from the past that can help inform our future. I spent much of my childhood learning about underrepresented voices that fought to advocate for the rights of their community. I learned about Francis Perkins’ advocacy for labor rights and Fred Hampton’s commitment to leading his community. But reading was just the beginning—now, I am inspired to follow in their footsteps by writing and advocating for workers’ rights.
